The tomatillo, or Husk Tomato, is a staple in Mexican cuisine. It bears small, round green or green-purple fruit. Tomatillos are grown as annuals throughout the Western Hemisphere and are generally eaten fried, boiled or steamed. In order for the Tomatillo to bear fruit, two or more plants are needed for proper pollination.
